The incorrect using of the word “HELP”

Yesterday I was thinking about writing a post about male chauvinist and a wrong word used many times by women “My husband helps me a lot at home” (talking, of course, about housework). I have looked at the dictionary for the definition of the word HELP and I have felt astonished when I have read one of the definitions:

the activity of contributing to the fulfillment of a need or furtherance of an effort or purpose; example - "he gave me an assist with the housework"; (www.wordreference.com). Are housework tasks only for women? Why do we consider that a man is HELPING a woman when he does housework? I always have considered me and my husband living at the same house and SHARING (that could be a correct word) activities at home. How can women fight for equal rights than men having those kind of definitions at the dictionary? Just try to look for the word “househusband”. Could you find it at the dictionary? (of course, housewife it is!!!). I’m waiting for your comments (women and men)

    Hello!
Yes, yes, yes!!I agree with you! People say "this man helps his woman with the housework"...ok... He helps because... is it an obligation for the women?!?!? No my friend, no. Men help because they don't be able to do this alone.

So much needs to be changed still and yet we still maintain the words and do not revolve against their misleading usage. It is true that both deeds and words need to change to make man and women more balanced but I'd rather defend deeds first.

Even though you are an active writer... What about writing a bit more! Time, isn't it?

    Hi Ladybird,

thanks for your comment. Time ago I didn't read of you, you used to write a lot!

I understand you don't like makina or techno music, it is a very special kind of music, more focused to liven up parties. For example, I don't like house music very much, I only like some of them, the most popular ones.

    Bye!
